Our Story
Alice Springs Malayalee Association (AMA)
The Alice Springs Malayalee Association of Australia (AMA) is a registered organisation with the Northern Territory Government. Established in 2012, AMA is a non-profit, non-political, and secular cultural association dedicated to social service, education, and cultural development.
AMA was founded by 20 passionate individuals who shared a common vision—to bring the Malayalee community together on a single platform and foster unity, support, and cultural pride.
Over the past 15 years, AMA has grown into a vibrant and respected community organisation in Alice Springs. Widely recognised for its contributions to social welfare and cultural initiatives, the association today proudly represents 750+ registered members, continuing to expand its reach and positive impact.
To effectively nurture its diverse initiatives in social service, education, culture, arts, sports, and media, AMA operates through dedicated subcommittees. These committees serve as the key pillars that strengthen the association’s mission while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Kerala.
What truly sets AMA apart is its deep commitment to helping those in need, both within the community and beyond. Guided by a strong sense of belonging and shared pride, AMA extends support wherever it is required. The association warmly welcomes everyone to join in preserving and celebrating Kerala’s vibrant cultural legacy while building a strong, inclusive community in the heart of Australia.
